Child Protection Data Privacy
In the parish’s ministry with children and young people in St John’s Malone, the Incumbent, select vestry and parish workers are committed to uphold good practice as defined by the Church of Ireland in “Safeguarding” a current copy of which is available at the link above.
Should anyone have a concern or suspicion regarding child welfare in the parish please contact a member of the Parish Panel, whose contact details are given on notice boards of our Church Halls, or contact any of the statutory agencies:
- The local Health Trust Child Protection/Gateway Team
- PSNI
- NSPCC
The Parish of Malone complies with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

Photographs or video
St John’s Malone recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all young people. In accordance with our child protection policy we will not permit photographs, video or other images of young people to be taken by our parish organisations without the consent of the parents/carers and the children themselves through our parish GDPR permission form. St John’s Malone will follow the “best practice” guidance issued by the Church of Ireland for the use of photographs, including use in our parish magazine and on our parish website. St John’s Malone will take all steps to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes they are intended. If you become aware that these images are being used inappropriately, you should inform a “Safeguarding Trust” Parish Panel member immediately (Contact details on notice boards in our parish halls).
